The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon Book Review. Wrote by the legend, Stephen King. This is a very short book, it's not even 300 pages. We was not quite sure what we thought about it to be honest but as we try to put together every chapter, The Girl Who Loved To Gordon is quite good.
Some people review it as one of the worst Stephen King's book but to be fair, it is not that bad and we quite enjoyed it.
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon followed a story about a nine year-old Tricia McFarlane strays from the path where she went for a walk with her brother and newly divorced mom. Walking deeper and deeper into the forest, she only has a portable radio for company.
A huge fan of Redsox's baseball player, Tom Gordon, she imagines him there helping her through her difficulties, giving her advice, and rescuing her.
And yet, there maybe something tracking her through the trees.
The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon Book Review
On surfacem it is a very simple and straight to the point book. It is a annual girl lost int he wood imagining idol helping her out. But as you read through this one, you realize it is more than that.
In less than 300 pages, the world building is absolutely immense. The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is so precisely created. As a reader, you can almost imagine being there with Tricia. The scent of damp woods and being watched is real. All those feeling were there as we were reading it.
The focus was pretty much on Tricia's thought. She shows a great strength of character. The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon shows even the most unexpected person can succeed in ways the never thought.
There are touches of Stephen King's favorite theme here. This book shows the power of child's imagination as do his many other books.
One of the things we want to point out here, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon is such an American book as it portrays baseball. Do not get us wrong it's not a bad thing because even almost every chapter it tells you about baseball, it seems works with how the story goes.
