Dunkirk Movie Review

Dunkirk Movie Review. Dunkirk is directed by Christopher Nolan and it is based on the true event when 400,000 soldiers with their back to the sea trapped on the beach completely surrounded by German forces that were coming in and no way to get home. The the concerted organized effort to save those guys.
Trust us, this is one of the most intense films you are going to see this year. The way Nolan sculpts this story is is so impressive. We heard early on on some screenings that a lot of critics are saying there's not a lot of characters development in Dunkirk and audience won't get to know the characters.
But, what you realize is that this movie is not about any of the characters. Dunkirk is about on particular moment. Nolan want to take the audience and immerse them into a situation that happened once. He wanted you to feel all the intensity, tension, and fear of being trapped and attacked.

When the bullets are whizzing by and the boats are sinking you  did not need to see bloo…

Still Alice - Is It Worth Watching?

Still Alice stars Julianne Moore and it is a story about a woman who discovers that she has early Alzheimer. Alice Howland is a very smart woman, a teacher and she feels a of of pride about the thing she able to accomplished in her life. All of these things make it very difficult for her when she stars to realize that she is forgetting very small thing.

Still Alice Movie Review

Her daughter, Lydia, plays by Kristen Stewart who also having a very hard time adjusting to the situation.

To me, this a very heartbreaking movie at time, fill with excellent performances all around. I really did like this movie despite the fact that there are aspects of it do appeal like Oscar rank.

There are times where movies come out like two theaters or one theater at the end of December, simply to be Oscar qualified. And then finally in the middle of January people can see this movie.

Julianne Moore performance

But I am very pleased to say that Julianne Moore performance is very subdued. It is not like, "hey, I am in this industry for years, I'm gonna bawled through out this entire movie."

She actually gave a really excellent performance that feels very level headed. I mean nothing about her performance is screams "look at me".

Julianne is so famous at this point and gave such a realistic portrayal of what would it be like for a woman who is entirely about her brain. The fact the the most precious asset, her brain, is now failing her and that is truly heart wrenching. And Julianne did a tremendous job portraying that.

For me. Still Alice is worth watching and I'm gonna give A to this movie.
