Hey guys, today I have a book to review and it is on An Abundance of Katherines by John Green. I actually finished it yesterday, and I was so pleasantly surprised. To be honest, this is my least anticipated book of John Green's but in the end, i thought it was amazing. Let's get this started with the review.
But first this is the synopsis of An Abundance of Katherines..
The main character is Colin Singleton, he is child prodigy. He just graduated fro high school and also has been dumped for the nineteenth times girls named Katherine. (Colin has this THING with dating Katherines, you know some guys like girls with blonde hair)
Colin is feeling down after being dumped by the last Katherine, and his best best friend, Hassan, he proposed to go on a road trip in hoped it will help Colin solve his depression.
On their road trip, Colin noticed there was a burial Archduke Franz Ferdinand located is Gutshot, Tennessee and that is were the story begins. They met this girl named Lindsey Wells.
Colin is basically trying to get his mind out of K-19 and also trying to figure out his theorem that will determine future relationship. Which is a graph where you can figure out whether you are going to be a dumper or dumpee and how long your relationship will last.
Review
John Green knows how to create amazing characters. This is the first book that I've read from him. A lot of people were telling me like "it's not his best work", or "you probably wouldn't like it". I actually love John's writing style and his comedy. I love the way that he could make me laugh through very serious events.
It was enjoyable book, it got huge range of characters which offer different personalities. The only thing that made my brain ache a little bit, because it is written about a child prodigy and some of the things he thought are quite hard to put in your head.
Something really awesome about this book is the fact that it has footnote which explain a lot of the things characters are referencing.
The only thing that I didn't like is the fact of the love story was a little bit predictable, and I knew what was going to happen.
So i give 3.5 out five stars for An Abundance of Katherines, if you like John Green it's definitely worth reading
